Strong Black Belts - fitness requirements and the power of consistant trainingA black Belt should be strong.
That makes sense, nobody imagines a black belt as someone out of shape, overweight and weak. On our martial arts journey we will work to become strong and fit. In our requirements guide "The path to Black Belt mastery" we lay out the minimum requirements by levels, beginer (White, Yellow and Orange) intermediate (Purple, Blue and Green) Advanced ( Brown, Red and Advanced Red) and last Black Belt. Beginer level students should be able to do 100 jumping jacks, 30 seconds of plank and 10 reps of push-ups, sit-ups, squats and burpees. Intermediate level students should be able to do 150 jumping jacks, 60 seconds of plank and 20 reps of push-ups, sit-ups, squats and burpees. Advanced level students should be able to do 200 jumping jacks, 120 seconds of plank and 30 oreps of push-ups, sit-ups, squats and burpees. Black Belt level students should be able to do 250 jumping jacks, 240 seconds of plank and 100 oreps of push-ups, sit-ups, squats and burpees. Now many will see this and believe that is just about fitness but it is so much more than just that. We are giving our students a path. Showing them the power of small consistant action to create big results. We often talk about how we will get from beginner level to black belt level. "It doesn't happen overnight and it won't magically happen while you are sleeping." We reach these goal one step at a time, one push-up at a time. We have found far too many people quit because that don't know how to set and break down goals.
